Chief Financial Officer

Olu Adebo serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water), where he oversees the Authority's $400 million operating budget and its $3.8 billion 10-year Capital Improvement Program. Mr. Adebo is also a member of the Authority's executive team that leads the strategic plan for the enterprise.

In 2009, Mr. Adebo led the Authority's implementation of the Clean Rivers Impervious Area Charge (Clean Rivers IAC), an unbundling of the sewer charge as a cost recovery method for the Clean Rivers Project. The implementation required aggressive community outreach and education, and internal, cross-functional cooperation.

Also, in 2009, The Washington Business Journal honored Mr. Adebo as a finalist in the annual CFO of the Year Awards in the business services category. This recognition reflects his record of consistent financial and management performance and strong leadership.

Since joining DC Water in August of 1999, Mr. Adebo has served as the Accounting Manager, Procurement Director, Controller and Director of Budget and Finance. Mr. Adebo holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and an MBA. from the University of the District of Columbia. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Adebo held financial positions with such organizations as: Whole Foods Market, Empower America and Riggs National Bank. Mr. Adebo is a member of several national professional organizations including:Government Finance Officers Association, American Water Works Association, Water and Environmental Research Foundation and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Adebo is actively involved in many of DC Water's community and charity projects, including chairing the Annual Bread for the Soul Program for the past seven years. This program collects and distributes donated toys, books and food for families living with HIV/AIDS in the District of Columbia.
