Dr. Jacqueline F. Brown
Principal, Prince George's County
Dr. Jacqueline F. Brown, who serves as the chief administrative officer for Prince George's County, Maryland and is the first woman in the history of the county to hold this position, has the responsibility of coordinating government services for 27 municipalities and for providing government service delivery to the county's 850,000 residents. In addition to her appointment to DC Water and Sewer Authority's Board of Directors, Dr. Brown represents Prince George's County on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce and The Hospices of the National Capital Region.
Dr. Brown has extensive education and experience in budget management and human development. Prior to her appointment to chief administrative officer for Prince George's County, Dr. Brown served as the Director of Academic Reform for the Howard County Maryland Public School System where she was responsible for the alignment of school system programs with State and National Initiatives on eliminating the achievement gaps for ethnic, gender, language, and socioeconomic student populations.
Dr. Brown is very active with a number of professional, civic and community organizations, and is a former chair of the Prince George's County Commission of Women. She has also received many awards and honors, including several citations from the Governor of Maryland for Outstanding Service to the State of Maryland in Education and Counseling.
Dr. Brown, who is a nationally renowned speaker, lecturer and leader in education, received her Ph.D. in human development from University of Maryland; an Ed. M. in guidance and counseling from Bowie State College, Adler-Dreikurs Institute; and a B.A. in sociology, psychology and social welfare from the University of Cincinnati. She is also the author of numerous publications and highly sought after as a motivational speaker on minority achievement.
