Robin B. Martin

Robin B. Martin is president and chief executive officer of The Deer River
Group, an acquisition and financial consulting firm and owner of commercial
radio and television stations and cable television systems.
Martin earned both a cum laude B.S. and an M.S. in Communications from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1972, and an honorary doctorate degree
in Humane Letters from The Corcoran School of Art in 1995. He has held a
number of executive positions in a publicly traded group broadcasting and
retailing enterprise and served as special assistant to the chairman of the
National Transportation Safety Board. Martin also served as a staff assistant
to President Gerald Ford from 1974-1976. Martin was the recipient of the
Rensselaer Alumni Association's prestigious 1981 Alumni Key Award, the 1989
Albert Fox Demers Medal, and the 1990 Fellows Award from the School of
Humanities and Social Sciences.
Mr. Martin has served on a number of consumer, community, and broadcasting
organizations and holds a commercial pilots license. He has authored or
co-authored numerous publications on the broadcasting industry, and served
as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in
Washington.
