Paul Bender joined the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy General Manager in July 1997. Mr. Bender is responsible for the Authority's financial areas, including long-term planning, budgeting, capital financing, risk management, and accounting, among others. Mr. Bender also oversees the Authority's customer service operations as well as its information technology functions.
Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Bender was Deputy Director of the Department of Public Utilities for Richmond, Virginia, with responsibilities for its financial and customer service operations.
Mr. Bender holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Goshen College, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Boston University's School of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant.
