In support of DC WASA's mission to provide safe and reliable drinking water, sewage collection and wastewater treatment to its customers in an efficient and economical manner, DC WASA has hundreds of contracts in place for construction, engineering, and goods and services. DC WASA is in the early stages of its Capital Improvement Program that addresses infrastructure repairs, modernization of facilities and processes for treating and transporting biosolids, and limiting sewer overflows.
Construction, architecture and engineering contracts range from $100 thousand to several hundred million dolars for projects related to maintenance, repair and upgrades to the plant as well as for projects involving sewage, stormwater, water storage and water distribution systems. The contracts range from design work to sewer cleaning and lining to eliminating dead-ends, repair and replacement of water mains, fire hydrants, valves, cleaning and lining sedimentation basins, treating and transporting biosolids, and various electrical projects. Our "What We Do" section of this site has more information on some of these projects.
DC WASA has contracts for goods and services as well as purchase orders worth several hundred million dollars.
