Title: Paving Releases

Policy: The District of Columbia Division of Transportation (DDOT) will not release a street, sidewalk area for paving by a private citizen or a company until they satisfy all of DCWASA's requirements for the utilities in the area to be paved.

Procedure: The Maintenance office of DDOT sends notices to DCWASA to release an area scheduled for paving by a private citizen or company. DCWASA will have the area evaluated by the construction office and the Water and Sewer Departments. The construction office usually inspects work by private developers. They would know if the developer has any outstanding items that must be corrected before the area can be approved for paving work. If the Water and Sewer Departments has planned maintenance work in the area, they will not release the area for paving work. All requests for information regarding paving releases must go through the DDOT office.
