DCWASA allows temporary connections for construction trailers and any other temporary site requiring plumbing services.
Procedure:
If an applicant has a need for a temporary water connection, the applicant can submit an application at 941 N. Capitol Street Permit Office. The applicant must notify DCWASA of the need for a temporary use of water and sewer. The applicant must obtain water meter approval of the tap/connections, storm water management and erosion approval stamps on a plan for the temporary service(s). DCWASA will provide a fee and cost estimate to the applicant for the temporary water and/or sewer tap/connections. The cost estimate is for the new temporary tap/connection and the abandonment of these services once the applicant notifies DCWASA of the completion of temporary use. The applicant is directed to pay the total cost to obtain an availability certificate for either a water or sewer or both connections, from 941 N. Capitol St., NE, 2nd Floor, permitting office.
