Cross-Connection Control Manual of Practice

This manual describes the DC Water and Sewer Authority (WASA) Cross-Connection Control Program and the responsibilities for individual consumers, WASA, the DC Department of Consumer Regulatory Affairs (DCRA), the DC Department of Health (DOH), and the EPA Region III (the enforcement agency for DC). The degree of hazard, methods of backflow control, and guidance for selecting appropriate devices are defined in the manual. Procedures for facility inspections and backflow-prevention assembly field tests are presented in detail to privde clear guidance for complying with WASA’s policies.
