Description of Duties:
The incumbent prepares professional quality reports that are grammatically correct and require little or no editing. Conducts surveillances and is capable of using state of the art equipment. Conducts interviews of suspects, witnesses, and complainants. Responds to all WASA emergency calls and makes decisions in accordance with WASA policies and procedures. Monitors, inspects, and controls contract guards and ensures compliance with DC regulations, security procedures and contract guard specifications. Communicates with other local and federal law enforcement agencies and establishes liaison in WASA territories that are beneficial to the Authority. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the Manager, Security.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have an Associate’s degree in law enforcement or security and (3) three years experience in a professional security role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a clean record with no felony convictions. Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and a DC WASA Vehicle Endorsement. Thorough knowledge of surveillance, procedures, techniques and equipment. Utilizes personal computer and maintains a working knowledge of applicable software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, etc.).
Other Requirements:
In the event that an offer is extended, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
First time supervisors and all new D.C. Water and Sewer Authority employees will serve a one (1) year probationary period regardless of prior governmental affiliation.
Incumbent serves as an essential employee, which means that the incumbent is required to work when the Authority has closed due to public emergencies, critical or hazardous conditions, or inclement weather.
Incumbent must posses a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's Permit
Incumbent is considered an essential employee and is subject to being placed on call during hours and schdules identified by the Authority
