Description of Duties:Provides support for commercial account customers and large federal accounts.  Develops and maintains relationships with large account holders.  Creates group bills for large multi-account customers.  Conducts monthly analysis on Federal, Municipal, and DCHA accounts as to consumption.  Proactively contacts, via telephone or letter, large account customers to discuss drops or increases in consumption at various account locations.  Conducts quarterly and/or monthly meetings with customers to discuss and address concerns, issues and payment on accounts.  Exhibits positive action in representing the Authority in making final determinations on customer’s inquiry or problem.  Participates in mid to high-level meetings with Federal, Municipal and DCHA officials and other large commercial customers guarding confidentially regarding sensitive information.  Initiates highly technical correspondence to customers and government officials specifically addressing items of concern and issues discussed at meetings.  Handles all requests for data and analysis coming directly from the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and/or other authorize sources.  Handles any pre-collection issues or problems specifically for the large commercial and group account customers.  Utilizes personal computer and maintains a working knowledge of applicable software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalency and five years of experience in a customer service environment with large commercial customers, inclusive of one year of experience in trend and forecasting analysis.  Skill in handling issues and problems associated with large commercial accounts.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Substantive knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.  Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.  Ability to keep pace with a busy, fast pace daily environment.  Must possess strong computer skills.  Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Other Requirements:
  • In the event that an offer is extended, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
  • First time supervisors and all new D.C. Water and Sewer Authority employees will serve a one (1) year probationary period regardless of prior governmental affiliation.
  • Skill test required.
