Evaluate compliance with Authority’s business practices by monitoring and coordinating the operation of the automated Material Control System that interfaces with the newly automated Maintenance Management System. Participates in the development of the Material Control Systems database enhancements, prepares various inventory reports to supervisors, managers, and department directors. Conducts annual training for new and existing employees, relative to activities regarding the Material Control System. Evaluates recommendations regarding changes needed on supply systems concepts, principles, and practices for the development of new procedures, methods, and approaches. Research Federal Supply Parts Classification publications daily for the purpose of determining part numbers relating to new inventory items received and stored in various warehouse locations, and post all entries with pertinent data into the Material Control System. Research and prepare technical information, cost data on equipment, parts, and materials for budgetary requirements. Coordinates annual meetings with vendors and department managers; publish delivery distribution notifications throughout the Authority, and administer the Authoritys Uniform/Safety Shoe program. Audit documents daily of all incoming invoices received from vendors regarding the delivery of Uniforms/Safety Shoes to ensure payment accuracy, and respond to and investigate all customer inquiries. Operates Authority vehicles as an essential function of the position. Maintains vehicle and/or equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Reports any operating deficiencies to the appropriate Authority personnel. Compiles data needed to develop spreadsheets, graphs and charts to enhance budget preparations, justifications, inventory and uniform/safety shoe assessments. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the immediate supervisor. | | Minimum Qualifications: | High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate and four (4) years of progressive experience related to the participation in controlling or administering a supply management program. Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License and a DC WASA Vehicle endorsement. Knowledge of technical writing and related analytical skills. Knowledge of supply operational functions. Knowledge of warehouse storage procedure for a variety of supply items to include (desks, chairs, file cabinets, etc.). Knowledge of cataloging functions as related to inventory record keeping. Utilizes personal computer and maintains working knowledge of applicable software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, etc.). | | Other Requirements: | - In the event that an offer is extended, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- First time supervisors and all new D.C. Water and Sewer Authority employees will serve a one (1) year probationary period regardless of prior governmental affiliation.
