Description of Duties:
The incumbent assists payroll manager in payroll operations. Overseas accurate processing of the payroll labor distribution. Overseas accuracy of all payroll accounting entries. Maintains payroll interface and oversee all entries to G/L. Supervises and directs staff in payroll liabilities reconciliation. Overseas proper recording of payroll liability (benefits) disbursements, and adjusting entries. Liaison between Human Resources and payroll on all benefit payment issues. Setup crosswalk for any new deductions for proper mapping to G/L. Coordinates with Accounts Payable on processing liability payments. Updates Accounting Manager on any payroll accounting issues. Supervises, monitors, and mentors staff. Acts as primary contact with IT and technical systems support for the payroll system. Includes report writing, troubleshooting system problems, and interfaces.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field and 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Full knowledge or IRS and DOL rules and regulations; full knowledge of year-end payroll processing and all quarterly and annual tax reports. Intimate knowledge of all aspects of payroll function including tax regulations, computer software and associated forms. Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills. Expert knowledge of accounting/finance and GAAP (specifically related to payroll). Solid MS office skills with excellent Excel skills. Strong skills in communicating, orally and in writing.
