Description of Duties:Under general direction, the incumbent serves as a business support liaison in the Department of Information Technology and is responsible for facilitating and coordinating various technology requirements to support the organizational units within DCWASA.  Incumbent acts as a liaison between IT and WASA organizational units, to carry out IT initiatives, projects and related tasks, as well as performing a wide variety of administrative and advance communication between Information Technology, and WASA departments.  The Liaison will also serve as backup, as needed, to the Supervisor, Help Desk. Develop and maintain business relationships with all organizational units throughout WASA to illuminate IT policies and procedures, organization wide.  Coordinates IT related initiatives and communicates initiatives to users in an effective and timely manner. Support WASA’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) initiative.   Responsible for planning, work with end users across departments to identify and resolve gaps between business processes and system functionality. Ensure that all processes are adequately documented. Involved with conducting regular system functionality audit. Responsible for the supporting and maintenance of Enterprise Backup and Recovery system.  Responsible for resolve complex backup and restore issues. Responsible for Installation, Configuration, and site Design of MS SharePoint 2007 Intranet system. Maintains system Backups, implements system patches and upgrades, and manages sites rights and security permissions. Develop and maintain documentation on IT policies, procedures, projects, and technical literature including project plans, reports, business processes, and procedure manuals.  Coordinating and managing technical requirements related to WASA staff relocations and WASA building Rehabs. Responsible for management of IT assets WASA wide.  Coordinating annual asset management inventory and management reporting, utilizing RFID to tag, deploy, and administer IT assets.  Responsible for annual Property Disposal program relating to IT assets.  Responsible for the delivery of IT reports to WASA Asset manager.
Regularly monitors project or tasks, and administer IT workload, to support customer needs and ensure completeness of scheduled activities, and provide updates and reports to IT team and management. Assist in promoting IT security policies, and providing customer training on IT initiatives. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business or related field from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years of IT-related customer support experience.
Ability to read, analyze, develop, and interpret general business policies and procedures.

  • The incumbent must be able to do the following: perform job tasks without jeopardizing safety and health of self or others; access and work in confined spaces and pressure vessels that has minimal head room and work space; work with average fatigue under adverse conditions that may require the use of personal protective clothing and equipment, including but not limited to respiratory protection; and ascend and descend stairs and ladders. Ability to lift 60 pounds.
