Description of Duties:
The incumbent types correspondence, reports, and memos. Enters data into automated file system. Answers and screens telephone calls. Examines incoming transactions (vouchers, cash receipts, invoices, etc.) for such items as accounting codes, signatures, and other information. Processes accounting and budget documents. Schedules appointments and makes travel arrangements. Requisitions office supplies, equipment, and publications, and performs similar office duties. Delivers and receives mail. Ensures proper postage for all outgoing mail. Prepares and maintains time and attendance records. Operates and maintains photocopy and fax machines. Utilizes personal computer and maintains a working knowledge of applicable software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc). Prepares legal documents under the supervision of Attorneys and/or Paralegals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency and two years of related experience. Intermediate skills in the use of computer hardware, and software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Other Requirements:
In the event that an offer is extended, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
First time supervisors and all new D.C. Water and Sewer Authority employees will serve a one (1) year probationary period regardless of prior governmental affiliation.
