Description of Duties:Provides engineering and technical assistance to the Director, Department of Engineering and Technical Services (DETS), and DETS managers.
Develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Interfaces with DETS managers to determine engineering system requirements and implement same, when required. Coordinates roadway restoration, permanent and temporary roadway repairs with operating departments and the Department of Public Works. Performs routine technical and administrative functions including attending WASA and/or departmental policy meetings and prepare status reports for WASA management. Prepares schedules and budget estimates of cost for proposed work, when required. Manages information system engineering application development and associated interfaces. Operates Authority vehicles as an essential function of the position. Maintains vehicles and/or equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Reports any operating deficiencies to the appropriate Authority personnel. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related Engineering degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years progressive experience in civil design and or construction. The experience should include project management experience involving large or sizable projects.
Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License and a DC WASA Vehicle Endorsement.
