Independent panel clears DC WASA of influence
Review Panel Finds No Violation of Competing Interests Policy
Jun 19, 2009 -- With regard to the academic research - "Elevated Lead in Drinking Water in Washington, DC 2003-2004: The Public Health Response"In a letter to the Editor-in-Chief of "Environmental Health Perspectives", the three-member Review Panel found that:

1.     The senior author of the paper correctly identified his source of support and found that the authors’ “freedom to design, conduct, interpret and publish their research was not compromised by any controlling sponsor.”
2.     There was no evidence on the part of the author to deceive or subvert the publication process and thus no basis for sanctions by EHP.
