What We Do
Drinking Water
DC WASA is committed to providing customers with the highest-quality drinking water by first ensuring that the water we deliver to you meets or surpasses federal Safe Drinking Water Act standards, and secondly, by providing you with the most reliable service possible.
Water is treated at the Washington Aqueduct treatment plants. We collect water samples continuously to ensure that the water leaving the plant meets EPA standards. In addition, DC WASA collects tap water samples throughout Washington, D.C., on a daily basis and analyzes the samples immediately on site and at our distribution laboratory.
If you have any questions about the quality of your drinking water, please call the DC WASA Water Quality Department at 202-612-3440.
