Friendship Heights Large Main Replacement

As part of DC WASA's Capital Improvement Program, existing 20-inch cast iron water mains will be replaced at various locations in northwest. These mains were installed over 75 years ago and are approaching the end of their useful service life. As a result of a failure of these mains in 2002, DC WASA evaluated their condition and determined that they had deteriorated and were in need of replacement in several locations. In addition, several mains were found to be located on private property, and will be relocated to public space.
