What We Do
Bangor Street Storm Sewer Improvements
DC WASA will be performing storm sewer improvements within the Anacostia neighborhood to improve drainage from storm events.
DC WASA has contracted with the engineering firm of Black & Veatch Corporation to develop detailed contract drawings for the proposed storm sewer improvements in the neighborhood. Black & Veatch and their partners, Mercado Consultants, will be performing survey and utility locating work in order to complete the plans.
Surveying crews will be operating out of company vehicles identified with their company logos. The survey and inspection work is expected to have minimal disruption to residents, businesses and traffic in the area.
As plans are developed, further information will be provided.

Public Outreach
DC WASA will meet with the ANC and other affected community / homeowner associations prior to finishing the project designs. Additionally, DC WASA contact information is available on this website in our "Who We Are" section.
Schedule
- Designs to be completed by the end of 2009.
- Project to be advertised and bid in early 2010
- Construction to start fall 2010 with an anticipated duration until fall 2011
- Public outreach and education will continue through out the project
